I have always cut my 2 guinea pigs claws myself with proper cutters but last night we had a tradegy, well as i was cutting them as usually i was cutting tongs clwas and as i went to click he moved causing me to basically cut his whole claw off leaving a lot of blood and its clear he is pain the claw is now flush with his toe we managed to stop the bleeding but im very worried about infection there live indoors in a big cage Would it be worth making a diy bandage to put on his foot for a while until it has heald?? i must say i feel extremely bad about this and keep crying our guineas ting and tong are like our babies they are spoilt rotten and we love them dearly i feel like a baby mummy.. any advice on what I should do? thankyou x

Oh, poor you, I understand your guilt but try not to feel too awful, it could happen to anyone. as for your pig I have seen that you can use wound powder which will keep it clean, make sure the cage is clean, he should be ok. As for the bandage it will probably annoy him rather than anything else. I doubt you could get it to stay on also, and he might eat it... not a good plan.
Keep an eye on him, give him extra veggies, and keep him warm. *hugs* don't beat yourself upx

Aww its a bummer when they move right at "cutting" point. Aslong as theres still a tiny bit of nail there and the bleeding has stopped it should be ok. Keep an eye on it and hopefully itll be fine.
