Gabriel has one of his top teeth broken off right by the gum. It looks very painful. The other one looks normal. I called the emergency vet. They said he'll be fine until tomorrow, especially if he is acting fine. I held him right after I held Skittles, so he was very excited to smell her on my clothes (he's a ladies' man). He also ate his veggies I just gave him. There were the normal size I give them, probably about the size of a dime (after being cut up). He hasn't eaten much of the pellets, if anything at all, since I've been home (a few hours). He didn't eat much while I was gone, but he eats more at night. I'm just worried. After Ruby's spay (emergency surgery), she just ate veggies and banana. What if he's just eating veggies?
What should I expect? I've never heard of just one of the teeth breaking off. I'm calling my exotic vet tomorrow morning. I can't remember how long she was supposed to be on vacation. Hopefully she's back already. I trust her more than I would ever trust another vet.

If he's not eating pellets it could be because they hurt his teeth. Try giving him softer veggies, things that wouldn't hurt his tooth. If he stops eating I'd take him to the vet right away. Good luck and I hope your vet's back from vacation!

He ate a bunch of veggies and is drinking some water. He hasn't eaten many pellets, if he ate any at all. He's got a vet appointment in less than an hour. He'll probably eat pellets soon, but I want to make sure it's okay.
The vet is not my normal exotic vet, or even my back-up vet. They were both on vacation. That was sad for me. I'm going to assume that this vet is better than no vet, although I've seen a bad vet or two. One threw away the syringe I was supposed to give my mouse meds with, then she picked it back out of the trash and gave it to me. She didn't even wash it (as if I'd use it at all after that).

It's growing back well. She said he might avoid pellets for a while and that we can try crushing up the pellets, adding water, or both. He should eat them soon. If not, we are supposed to call the vet. She checked him all over. He looks really good she said. She said she's glad he's healthy. She said people don't usually bring in guinea pigs until they are on death's door(step?). I told her I tend to overreact to things, but I think it's better than taking the chance.

I'm glad to hear that he's doing better! ^_^
Out of curiosity, what did you think of this vet? Hopefully not as bad as the one you mentioned?

She was really nice. She seemed to care and she said they were taking good care of him. That was nice to hear.

He's great. He's eating the hard pellets, instead of the ones I added water to and crushed up into mush.
Edit: Happy Birthday! (in case you didn't get it in the other thread)

His teeth are perfectly equal now! That was a lot faster than I would have thought. I wish people teeth would fix themselves that easy. My dad has to get dentures soon because of childhood related issues (and an accident), and he's not happy about it. I wish I was rich so I could get him whatever he wanted. (Sorry, now I'm talking way too much).

That's great news! Defo know what you mean, two of my aunts have had to get bridges in for missing teeth and they hate it
