Hi all! My name is Paulette and I'm from MA, USA. I had started posting then realized i don't remember introducing myself nor my piggy! Well, I am a first time piggy owner, he's name is Rocky. How we came to get Rocky was a strange coincidence. My 9 yr. old daughter wanted a pet and since she didn't want anymore betta fish, because you can't hold on and hug it lol....we started looking at other options as pets. I started doing research online to what a good pet for a child that age would be, we came across guinea pigs. I told my husband and he wasn't so keen on the idea. I had told my parents about it, to get there input when that next day, my father's neighbor came to him asking him if he knew anyone that would be interested in a guinea pig that her grandson had lost interest in and she was too elderly to care for it not to mention the many cats she had. My dad took this as a sign of fate and called me ASAP. I decided to visit with the neighbor the next day. She cried because she knew she couldn't give it the attention it deserved. I took it upon myself to accept it into our home without anyone knowing. She told me it was a female and 1 yrs. old. That's what the pet shop people told her.
Upon coming home (my home) i explained the whole thing to my hubby, he even found it strange that we just started looking at the as possible pets and one was available......a good sign! I did further research and found out that the piggy was actually a male! So, my daughter picked out Rocky as his name....he has been with us for alittle over a yr. now, he's 2 upon our guesstamation lol. My hubby has grown to love him as we do already and when i take photos or video, i show my father's neighbor how he's doing and she just cries tears of joy that he's got a good home and was surprised that the she turned out to be a he lolol.......that's our story!
