Hello, I understand that guinea pigs teeth grow back and the breaking of them is normal but I guess I need a :-Xlittle more assurance. Piggy had a fall onto tile floor and we just noticed today that the two top teeth cracked right below the gum. I he hasn't been eating much but he still seems to be in high spirits.. I wasn't sure if they would crack off and then grow back of if I supposed to have them removed? It looks as if though they do fall of it would be right at the gum and he wouldn't have any top teeth till they grow back. I want to make this as comfortable as possible till he is healed, very worried

Hi
Yes you are correct a healthy guinea pigs teeth should grow back normally. Just keep an eye to ensure they grow back straight and not too long. As you say your pig had a fall onto a tile floor im assuming you mean he fell from someones arms or took a leap of faith out of a carry box or something. A vet check may be worth while just to ensure there are no hidden problems. Guinea pigs are great at hiding being unwell.
Hope he is ok

While you're waiting to get to the vet you could also grate the vegetables for your pig to make them easier to eat. Keep a very close eye on how much he eats and poops as well.

Thank you for your responses, he is doing very good. His teeth finally cracked off Wednesday and they already started growing back. I have been chopping the food and hand feeding him
I will keep an eye on his poops, he still has his big apatite

Make sure his front teeth don't grow back lopsided though
