Was the sow bred intentionally? If so when? If not, when do you think a boar may have got to her. Its always difficult to tell until its well very obvious. As many pigs have little or large bulges on their sides and it depends on the angle of the pig when the pigture is taken ect.
Only time will tell

it wasn't intentional. I let them all play together and usually when a male would even try to hump her she would bite them and run away, but in this one instance she didn't. Could she have been in heat maybe?

Could she have been in heat maybe? Boars and sows should NEVER be allowed to play togeather. Unless the boar is neutered. Doing so causes stress to both pigs. And in this case the question now lies, if the sow is pregnant. It only takes one time for this to happen and could have been very easily avoided. Boars when placed with sows will always sniff, rumble and try to mate. The sow will only allow him to do so if shes in heat. Please do not take what i have said offensively but there are so many "accidental" breedings that turn out badly and when we can prevent such things every step should be taken to do so unless we as owners intend to breed. How old is the sow in question? If shes over 9 months has she had a litter before? Kayleigh
