Internal Abscess : (

Evening everyone

Today Godric one of my male pigs went into the vets for sedation and surgery. He had a small lump on his side which slowly began to grow, after close observation I took him to the vets who wanted to have a closer look.

Thankfully Godric pulled through (so far) and came around from the sedation well. The lump was an abscess which unlike most had burst inwards and was ooozing pus and blood internally.

The wound has been cleaned and sewn up for now. Hopefully hes going to recover well and im hoping nothing more comes of this abscess. hes on antibiotics and im to keep the wound clean.

Poor Godric! It's unusual that an abscess would burst that way, isn't it? You were unlucky I hope he recovers and there's no more problems from this.

He's looking very handsome, by the way!

Thanks Orlaith, Yes i think it is very strange for it to burst inwards. Can be very dangerous too a the pus can go sceptic and cause all kind of nasty infections. Luckily i caught it in time and it had just began to seep into his body.

Hes doing good today. Looking at me with lovely sooky eyes. But hes eating his veggies. Hopefully everything heals ok and it doesnt re occur.

Just a wee update, Godric is still healing. He hates taking his medicine but he has no option. It smells lovely...well i think so. Smells like bananas.

He has a lost a little weight but as hes on his own for the moment he has the pick of the food.
