Hello everyone! I've always rescued all animals and have had cavies since I was a young child. Just this past year throughout the summer I fostered over 16 kittens and 2 mother cats. Recently I took on 14 breeder pigs that a breeder was relinquishing. I already had 4 rescue pigs of my own, making my new total at 18 pigs! Upon taking these new arrivals 5 of the sows are pregnant and due to whelp at the end of Oct. 2011 through the end of Dec. 2011. I've whelped puppies, kittens and cavies before. I'm fairly knew to all the breeds I've acquired recently, Peruvians, silkies, texels, Abyssinians and teddy's. I have since retired 4 older sows to a local rescue who could provide them the medical attention that they needed upon receiving them and allow them the life they deserved. I've found I have the most affection for the coronets, teddy's and Himalayans. In the next year I'd like to re-home the majority and concentrate on mainly Himalayans, coronets and teddy's which I'll have to purchase since I only have one young teddy boar out of the ones I'm searching for. I'm finding it near impossible to find any breeders in my state of Fl. that breed PURE Himalayans, coronets and teddy's. I'm hoping that some of the members from cutie cavies will offer their wisdom and input on locating breeders as well as the genetics that constitutes these wonderful breeds. I look forward to meeting you-Thank you!

Hello
Welcome to the forum.
Its always lovely to have new members. I myself have rescued many pigs over the years and know the hard work it can be getting them to 100% health.
I found it very difficult here in the UK to find a good Himalayan breeder. I had to travel around 400 miles to get mine! I love the himi's and their very different personalities.
Coronets are also gorgeous i have two of my own. Beautiful pigs.
Im sure you will enjoy this forum

Why THANK YOU Kayleigh! Now I'm more anxious then ever to acquire a Himalayan! I wasn't aware of their unique personalities! As you've read from my posting I'm not having any luck locating a Himalayan within my state. I imagine I'm in for quite a challenge but I will continue to search! Thank you for your lovely welcome and I do know I will enjoy your lovely forum!
