So I have had Cinnamon for awhile now and she is about 8 months old. I feed her pellets and hay and she eats it all up,but she is so bony! All my other piggy's have gained weight and when I feed them she is always the first one to look up while I'm putting food in and then she dives in. So I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what it could be? It just confuses me as to how she can eat so much and yet still be so skinny.

What breed is she? And how much does she weigh? This will help give us an idea. A pigture will also help.

I am unsure as to what bred she is. And according to my scale she is 430g. Also her breathing is always faster than all the other piggies breathing. Here's a picture. It's kind of hard to see her skinnyness since she has long hair. :/

She looks like a sheltie. And as for weight at 8 months that is fairly small especially for a sheltie type. Did you get her from a breeder or petstore? Also what pellet are you feeding? You could try feeding her oats to fatten her up, if this doesnt work i would be more inclined to say maybe she has an underlying health issue. When you say she breathes faster is it a crackly breathing or just quicker panting.

I got her from Petco and I feed them Oxbow pellets. And her breathing sounds crackly. Sort of like her nose is stuffed, but it's dry. There was an incident awhile back in August when I lived in a different city for a month and it was very very hot there and I had the fan on all of my piggies, but there was a day when I looked in and Cinnamon was on her side kind of spazzing and I tried to put her upright and she just fell over and spazzed some more, but then she stopped and started running around like nothing happened. I thought it could have been a heat stroke of some sort,so after that I moved back to San Francisco where the weather was much cooler. Could this maybe be related to that? Like an after effect of some kind?

:/ I don't know, I would say take her to the vet for a check up, breathing could be a uri.
Have you checked her teeth lately? My pigs have done the spazzing out like that thing but I just assumed mine were popcorning... because it doesn't last long and they seem fine. But she is quite skinny so I would definitely take her to the vets, I am not sure what it could be but its probably something.

Sounds like she has a URI so i would defo get her checked out. Is that her hair colouration on her stomach or has she layed in something. Looks kinder green. Yes she looks a little underweight, Is she getting enough food? Maybe housing her by herself for a few days will let you see if shes eating her fair share.

Ahh ok. I would suggest weighing her on a weekly basis to ensure shes putting weight on. If she doesnt then i would seperate her from her friends incase she has something contagious. Ensure she gets plenty of veggies, hay and food.
