Hey loves.
So I posted a while ago about my one piggie, Machete, having a large patch of hair loss on her butt. She's got barbered hair on her back legs which made the vet immediately go to barbaring as the root cause. At the time, I still have Chipotle & we had assessed that maybe she was chewing the fur on Machete...but as I sadly had to post a few weeks ago, I lost my wonderful girl. If she was pulling the hair out, I'm expecting to see at least some improvement but I'm wondering if the hair is just going to remain gone, her skin on her back & completely bald. The hair on her back legs, as I said, was not fully gone but it doesn't seem to have changed, making me suspect she's pulling it out on her own.
So far we've checked for mites, lice, parasites, etc. No fleas, nothing was scene in the skin scrape. My vet recommended giving her a small dose of revolution to see if that might help but I've done the treatment & have not seen any improvement. She doesn't seem necessarily more itchy either, she likes to popcorn & wiggle when I scratch her back, but I think that's just happiness & not itchyness...
As I mentioned before, my other piggie Chipotle never had any hair loss. We didn't suspect ringworm, although that COULD be a possibility. I just didn't want to deal with a 28 day DTM that may be for no reason.
Has anyone had this problem? I have a picture. This is not as recent, the baldness has spread a little more. Could it be allergies?
