hi I have now recused 4 swiss guineas from a lady who had broken knee cap and could no longer cope,they was in a poor state,keep in sawdust that looked like sand it was so fine so that was all matted in their fur,they had poo stuck round gentials all matted in,iv changed bedding for megazorb and brushed and bathed them all and trimmed round thier gentials a little,one of the guinea's (Harvey) seems to have a very swollen penis any ideas why?could it been the sawdust itching him?I am going to get them all checked at the vets tomorrow just to be on the safe side  |

well i really don't know.  It might be from the sawdust.... like you said... maybe he might of pinched it in something? Well the vet will probably know. hope this helps, lra123  |

Could there be some sawdust or hay stuck in around his penis? If you press just above it, it should pop out, and then you might see some debris stuck there.

hes been bathed and popped it out and all seems fine,just looks swollen,vets booked in for mon bless him.

What did the vets say? He may just have a slightly large penis than other boars. Has he been bred with?

just advised to book him in monday,so going monday will keep u posted.my partner said that,and yes the woman before me bred from him and hes now paired with his son

It could just be that he has a larger penis than other boars. like most nothing will be the same! If theres no debris stuck and it doesnt look sore then its probably fine.

No he hadnt as I'd bathed him and checked but the appointment is booked just to be on the safe side and have them all checked over due to them being in a bit of a state
