 Hello all! We just became piggie parents Feb. 17th (2012). While we thought we'd done our research and knew what to expect/how to care for/etc. we have found many differing answers and opinions on forums. We are eager to learn more to create the best experience for both ourselves and our pig I'm Sara, my husband of 12 yrs Rob, and our 6 yr old son Christian. He named our piggie Pop Tart, since he felt he looked like his favorite style of poptart (s'mores). We are definitely considering adding another after reading so many suggestions of having two. We did buy Pop Tart at a pet store, but would have adopted had we known that was possible. Our next will be a rescue piggie. Thank you all for being here and being ready and able to help newbies! We look forward to learning and exploring!

Thank you! I feel very welcome here. I've tried another forum, and felt very judged and criticized. Not a very good way to educate new parents. We are most likely getting the second piggie tonight!

Welcome, I am new as well with two new boys! Looking into taking in 2 females from a rescue this week as I love them so much! We are in the process of building 2 open enclosures for the boys and girls. The boys get theirs tomorrow and the girls will have their new home when they arrive later this week from the rescue. We are full of love here, I hope you find the same thing from this forum...alot of wonderful people here! |

We just added another one tonight! Please welcome Scout (we had Cub Scouts tonight). He and Pop Tart are hanging out and enjoying each other's company. We were worried they might need some time adjusting, but they are doing great! Both are about the same age (6-8 weeks) so that might have helped. Just adding a friend made Pop Tart so much more active and happy! He can't stop popcorning!  |
