My name is Elsa. I live in Westchester, New York. Since last August I have been taking care of Bella, a guniea pig whose mother died shortly after she was born. She is very pretty - mostly black with a white stripe down her face and a brown dot on her back. She has some behaviors I don't understand. She has bitten me and seems to want to chew on me a lot. She also will chew on her basket when I hold her in it. Is that okay or is that because she didn't grow up with her natural mother.

I have 4 little nibblers =) Vincent will chew on my fingers to try get the very last bit of veg flavour, warren has licked and nibbled the bfs nose when he held him up close, he also bites nearly everything from plastic to cardboard to metal =S we also have baskets for my piggies and within a few weeks a wicker basket was reduced to nothing. Its because their teeth are constantly growing so they need to file them down on something I think =) its completely normal.
