Evening everyone Just a quick post to let you all know Crunchie the pet sow i rescued with her 3 friends delivered her pups, I was so lucky to catch her going into labour and sat for the 2 hours watching her. Sadly the first pup was DOA and weighed 107grams, the 2nd was 78g and live, the third was TINY 38grams and was also DOA. The fourth pup was 58g and is also still with us. Im a little worried about the smaller of the pups as she is tiny. She also has a glazed white look on her eyes, it seems to be clearing but this could mean she is blind...only time will tell. Got a couple of snaps of them, I also have a video of Crunchie in labour that i will upload later. Video added as promised excuse the quality, its taken on my mobile. You dont really need sound though as you can hear the other pigs drinking, wheeking ect haha youtu.be/GrMHXLpknHwEarly days but thought id share I will post the video and keep you updated with these two Kayleigh

They are beautiful pups. Sad for the other two, but you didn't know under what conditions Crunchy got pregnant, did you? I hope they do well!

They are both still with us today! Seem to be feeding well from mum so im more hopeful today!!
No im not sure the conditions that Crunchie fell pregnant, from what iv been told its another case of misexing and then not seperating in time. So yet another inbred sow. BUT luckily the pups arent too bad. Just possibly blind. Teeth are all straight and look to be pointing in the right direction.
Still early days yet but i hope things go well. They are both very loud wheekers!!

Im happy to report both pups are still alive and seem to be putting weight on well. Its still early days but promising as they have both survived this long already. Im fairly sure the smallest is blind and the other possibly. But its best to wait until they are older to tell.

Sadly we lost the runt of the litter, the blind boar. He fought well but mother nature took control. Its not looking great for the remaining pup. Crunchie seems to have lost interest. Im hoping one of my other sows delivers soon so i can try and put the pup in with a new litter.

Im now hand rearing the young pup, to give him a fighting chance. Im still putting him back with Crunchie but shes not interested like a mum should be.
So far so good, hes feeding well.
Not sexed 100% as he/she is too small.
38 grams : (

The pups passed away during being delivered or in the womb. I always give them a chance just incase i can get them going but sadly this one was gone. Sent from my GT-I9000 using ProBoards
