So I am just curious how everyone weighs their pig and how often? I had the impression not to pick them up while pregnant....confused.

I weight all my pigs fairly often, i use normal flat kitchen scales, and just pop them on and weigh them. Its best not to over handle pregnant sows as it stresses both sow and pups out. I handle my pregnant sows only to weigh them and to clean their cages. Heres a quick snap of a weigh in of a pup (to show you the scales i use) Kayleigh

I really must get some scales as i haven't weighed my piggies at all and just go by their sizes and how they are eating, how their coat looks etc. But they are smooth coated so easier to tell i suppose. I'm gonna get some as when they are poorly etc it's good to help you. The scales i have at moment are the balance type and i don't think they would appreciate being on a seesaw!! Ha ha.
