Kamek's Neutering

So after the incident with Navi, I called a few vets in town and got information about neutering Kamek. I had decided when I bought him that I wouldn't neuter him, but he's such a social piggy and there's no way he could live alone again. After him and Navi had to be seperated he spent the days wandering around the cage and looking for her, and whenever he heard her make noises from the other cage he'd start calling for her, it really broke my heart.

It's been two weeks since I got him neutered, the vet I went to was really great and I'm happy with that. I think he's healing nicely, but I'm not entirely sure on what everything is supposed to look like and what it should be looking like now after the two weeks. Does anyone know of anywhere that would have progress pictures?

He's living at my parent's place until he's healed, because I work all day so I can't keep an eye on him and if anything happens then I may not be home for over 12 hours to be able to help him. My parents are spoiling him like crazy, my dad absolutely adores him. Every time I go over he's being cuddled by someone, so he's really happy too. I miss him a lot, he was always the one who'd greet me when I came home, he'd stand up on his back legs to try to reach up to the top of the cage cuz he knew he was about to get cuddles. And Navi misses him too, she's a very shy and nervous piggy but being around Kamek really helped her with that. But now that's she's living by herself for a bit she spends most of the day hiding. I can't wait to have him back and let them be together again.

Sounds like he is being spoiled rotten! How lovely. Let us know how they get on when you put them back together. Hope it's not long for you or for Navi.
I don't know how long as i've not had any experience of that.

This makes me feel so much better about my decision to neuter PopTart, which will be hopefully next week. I really want to keep my pair together, just no more babies!

Sounds like you did the right thing. I got one of my boars neutered after he just wouldn't get on with either or my other boars. I knew the vet really well and had always gone to them so I was very confident!

As for healing there should be 2 cuts in each side, and they will be quite swollen for a while, the cuts will fade right down. I can still see sootys scars even after 7 months! My vet told me sooty had a lot of fatty tissue inside his testicle sac so it looked as though he still had his testicles although their is defiantly none there! Haha he still looks like there is testicles there but he can poo and pee fine so I'm not concerned. The swelling should have gone down a lot after 2 weeks, he should be okay to be left now (not to be put with navi), just check him Daily and make sure theres no lumps or anything really different. But If in doubt take to the vet they will put your mind at rest.

He will love living with his girlfriend again. I know sooty loves having another piggie to just be with even though they look as if they aren't interested when together I think they would be really upset if I separated them!

I still have trouble thinking of Scout as a girl, so thinking about them as boy and girlfriends throws me off

I'm looking forward to being able to house them together again, this is such a weight off my mind!

I hope PopTart's goes as smoothly as Kamek's did!
I was worried about Kamek when we first brought him home, he wouldn't eat for the first day so we had to crush his food and mix it with water and force feed him, but by that night he was eating on his own and now he's eating just as much as normal.

I'll only be worried if he refuses red bell pepper and cilantro lol
