Hi, I have two sows...the younger one is 3.5 months old and progressing nicely...weight and appetite is great....the older one, this is the second litter. She is 7 weeks along, not eating many pellets, mostly hay and veggies, drinks well. All she does is stay in her hideout. Has anyone's sow done this....she is slowly gaining weight only about 15-20, every 3-4 days or so. Everything else is normal like stools, etc. I don't feel any kicking yet...

Did you breed both sows intentionally? all sows are different though. Aslong as they are both eating veg and hay thats good. At 7 weeks along you should be able to visually see shes pregnant and feel the pups. Are they being housed togeather?

Yes both sows are now being housed together...but the older piggie picks on the little one.

If they seem to be pushing eachother around it may be best to seprate them for the duration of their pregnancy. The stress can have bad effects on sows and pups.

Thanks, I will observe them again, I just put them together yesterday, so we will see how they do today. Pebbles is almost 8 weeks along....and Wilma is around 6 weeks along, maybe 5 weeks, not sure. I don't expect them to be carrying large litters. I plan to move Pebbles into my bedroom this week, would that stress her out a lot? I just want to be able to help her with this litter, since they all died last time.

I would personally seperate them to totally remove the chance of stressing either out as they are so far along. I dont usually let my sows litter togeather as the mum usually gets a bit nippy towards the other sow and gets stressed out. And can chase the other sows away and stand on the pups.
moving them into your room shouldnt stress them out.
