A couple of months ago Warren got mites because of an old carpet in the garage that we used to cover him up at night. We suspected the field mice that we seem to aquire in the garage. I treated all the piggies and it looks like it's gone. However, when I went to check they were all okay yesterday, a field mouse ran out from Vincent's cage and down the back of the hutch. I know Vincent will be lonely due to losing a cage mate recently but will he really have made friends with a field mouse? Or is it stealing his food? And if they gave the piggies all mites before via the carpet, will they get them again if the mice are in their homes? =(

I don't think Vincent and the mice are friends. It is likely that the mice are stealing his food. They are especially attracted to hay, too.
I'm uncertain about the mites. If they have been treated, that offers some protection. But I would think that the mice would in fact give the piggies mites again (if the mice are carrying mites).

Mice of any kind are bad news, They will steal the food, hay and bring who knows what into your pigs. Id defo suggest putting traps down to catch them. Kayleigh
