The babies are now 3 weeks and 3 days old, they are all males.... today they were seperated from Momma and boy they sure had a fit. Is it to early to seperate the babies from the Mom and how old do they have to be to get rid of. We are not into making money on selling the babies, but I'm afraid if I give them away on Craigslist that someone with a large snake might get them for feeders, can't do that!!!!! So I am going to put them up for sale anywhere from 15.00 to 20.00 each, figure that will keep them quite safe and going to a good home.

Yes, 3 weeks is when you want to seperate the males from the mama. I usually sell my baby pigs at 6 weeks of age but some breeders can go as far as 7-8 weeks to sell them.

Between 3 and 4 weeks they need to come away from their mum. They shouldnt be sold until they are at least 6 weeks old sometimes even 8 weeks depending on their size.
Reason being is moving them away from their mum is a big shock to them and they need to settle down and you need to make sure they continie to thrive and gain weight. If you were to move them this early to a new home aswell the stress could cause them to stop eating and go seriously down hill. Iv had a couple of people come to me saying they lost a pig and when i asked age etc they were only 5 weeks old.
Responsible breeders rehome between 6-12weeks of age. I rehome my pet boars between 6-8 weeks and my pedigree pigs i keep a little longer just to make sure i defo want to rehome them.
You can however advertise them for reservation and allow people to come and view them. I tend to do this so i get to meet the potential owners before they go away.
The boars will make alot of noise for the first 24 hours but they will settle down. Aslong as they are togeather they will be fine.

I remember the day we seperated our baby boys! It was so noisy! They cried and cried but after 24 hours they stopped and looked quite happy all playing together. I was more sorry for the mum who looked sad but was so exhausted from feeding them almost looked relieved to be able to rest!! I've been waiting to see if you would post again to see how you've been getting on!!!Have you enjoyed watching the babies? I bet your daughter's have grown quite attached. I too worried about giving the babies away to good homes, and after so many weeks of seeing their little personalities appear decided to keep them all! I worried about people getting them to feed snakes too!!! It's not cheep looking after 5 piggies with all the veggies they get through!! Would love to see pictures of you babies if you get chance!

Babies are doing great and growing like a weed, I figured I'd have at least one female but not so fortunate. My two daughters are very attached to the babies and we had planned on keeping them all but I still am without a job at present time and I told the kids if they would help out around the house with chores and keep their room clean they would have a good chance to keep them but kids will be kids and I guess they didn't want them as bad as they thought they did. Dillon the father is feeling out and getting to be a big boy, Charlotte is a little thin to some degree, which I figure is normal for a mother suckling 3 growing boys. My daughters had the mom on their bed this morning and took one of the boys and put with her, he trying to get on her so they took him away. The boys will be put on Craigslist in a few days, the pigs go for around 34.00 at the pet stores here in town so putting them for sale at 20.00 I think would be good.

Yes my mummy pig lost a lot of weight and you could feel her bones! I was glad when the boys were taken away so she could put some weight back on. It didn't take her long! Make sure your daughters don't get putting the males with Charlotte again or you may have to go through it all again!!!! Ha ha! I'm sure you will find good homes and you will have happy memories of the whole experience.
