I was trimming my guinea pig's (Peanut) nails when he jerked away and i accidentally cut the top part of his quick! I think i only just skimmed it and it only bled a little but I'm afraid it might get infected! I washed it with this disinfecting liquid (i'm not quite sure what it's called) and i also covered his dirty bedding with paper towels (because it is dark out so i cannot clean the cage right now) should i see a vet or let it be? Please help!!

Usually these cuts aren't too bad. I have a styptic powder that I bought from a petshop to stop the bleeding. Watch to make sure there is no excessive bleeding on your pig's nail. If the bleeding is stopped, just keep an eye on it to make sure there is no infection. From there, keep it clean and he should be fine.

It happens us all from time to time. So long as the bleeding stops in a few minutes it's fine. If you haven't got the special powder, some white flour or ground coffee will do in a pinch. Try distracting your piggy with a nice treat, like their favourite veg, and they'll get over it pretty quickly :-)
