I am trying to give Terra his meds and he is very defiant. He is burying his head in the towel and escaping the towel. I know its unpleasant but i am trying to help him. I think he is feeling better which is good. I wonder does anyone have any tricks for syringe feeding meds?

You can mix it with something tasty. Maybe mash up some pellets or blend some vegetables. You can also try the mixed vegetable baby food. I find that my pigs had antibiotics, and the pellet mash or baby food always does the trick.

It sounds harsh but i dont mix meds as then i cant be sure they are getting it 100%, If i have a pig whose a little less impressed its a case of quickly and it done. I will hold them on my lap put the syringe near and hold them secure (not tight) and just give them it. Its for their own good bless them.
How much is he getting? 0.5ml?

He is getting .2 ml of smz tmp and .03 of busprenax. the pain meds arent a problem its the antibiotic. With the pain meds I can squirt the whole thing in his mouth. Its absorbed through the gums so he doesn't even have to swallow it. I can't give the antibiotic in one big push of the syringe because its too much. Plus I'm mixing the antibiotic with juice.

I'm not sure which pain meds they gave me for Pop Tart after we had him neutered, but he just sucked it right down! Practically pulled the syringe out of my hand! Makes me wonder if they don't flavor it some.
