Eclipse has finally had her first baby in this immense litter she is sooooo completely exhausted im having to help her at every stage first baby was very big and placenta was delivered first. any pointers for refuelling her as ive tried the electrolyte waters and sugar water and she is very weak. she doesnt have any signs of toxemia yet other than cold ears. up until an hour ago she has been eating 4 times the amount of a non pregnant pig, but i have been keeping an eye on sweet fatty stuff as i always do. i think number 2 will arrive soon, but she is sooo tired. baby is alive and i have another 3 just littered sows i can foster bubs out to just incase the worst happens.
Please pray for poor eclipse im so worried

Keep a very close eye on her, Continue what you are doing and ensure she delivers the remaining pups. I personally would seek vet advice right away due to the possible onset of tox. It can be a very close call between life and death with sows and tox.
How long has she been in labour and is she seeing to the first born?

about 2 hours all told now had 3 pups so farsadly 3rd on still born. first 2 are doing ok and has picked up energy wise, i think its just exhaustion as its a big litter and she is still eating, still drinking taking electrolytes through syringe every 5 minutes or so and has now started to clean her babies she certainly knows how to scare mummy half to death. funnily her colour looks alot better. im sat next to her not leaving her side til shes finished. all my sows come in to litter and if i was to reincarnate as an animal i think i wouldnt mind being one of my guinea pigs lol

2 hours is a long time, but if shes delivering them thats good. Keep her hydrated and happy. Remove the DOA pup as she might focus on this one.
Are the pups large in size?

yes ive done that, she had 4 pups all told last 2 were 120g each very big both still born. the first one althoguh he is active hes not able to stand, lists to one side then falls over i sadly dont think he's going to make it second pup is fine in every way. so out of 4 she has one... its sad but she seems to be perking up. the longest hardest litter ive had in years poor eclipse just see she recovers now.

update a couple of hours on. Eclipse is looking a lot better in herself, she has been eating bits of allsorts, had apple slices x2 a few slices of carrot, a little bit of kale, has had some water well i say some LOADS of water, she has cleaned herself up, and has fed little baby. just keeping my fingers crossed for her. hopefully just feeding the one pup won't take too much out of her. so sad losing the other babies but so glad she is still with us.
