I've been trying to find a friendly active forum, which apparently is harder than it looks. I've been a forum Member on other forums for many years now but the ones I am most active on are just, well RUDE. I stay active on them honestly for the solely to get my name as a guinea pig bedding marker out there, but the hunt for a good friendly and active forum is always on.
Wheekers I found, has been friendly but I find that some weeks there is hardly any postings, which hurts a rabid stay at home mom like me.
I am hoping to make new friends here. This forum seems pretty active and I hope that my many years of guinea pig slavery can come in handy for you all.
So how about some information? My name is Erin, and you may recognize the user name if not, eschimpf might give it away too. I've been a slave since 2008 and have never looked back. As I stated I am a stay at home mom, 3 wonderful kids, and I sew on the side.
I have a bit of a zoo with 1 cat, 1 turtle, 3 minnows (turtle wont eat them
), and my three wheeking boars. I am going to be getting 2 or 3 fire belly toad tadpoles with weekend from a friend of mine who had 23 unexpected babies born in her FBT tank.
Now, I'm sure you all have found this all rather interesting but I know what you all came here for, photos and bios of the pigs!
From oldest to youngest:
Mojo:
Mojo was born in my home back in 2009 from an accidental litter. At 3.5 weeks he went to live with my younger sister who lives 3 hours away. In Oct 2010 she found she just didn't have the time for him anymore so he came back to live with me and has been since. He is so people friendly, always wanting to be scratched or pet. He is how ever, NOT pig friendly. He live for about a year with one of my other boars but sadly after a year he and said boar started fighting badly. I had to remove him and put him in his own cage, which since then I've tried one other time to see if he would get along with either of my other three, which ended with a surgery for one of them.
Romeo:
Romeo is my love. I adopted him from a private home back when I had girls. He is neutered and loved living with the girls. Sadly they have all passed on. He is about 2.5 years old and LOVES his pellets. I've finally found a hay he likes and he not dives nose first into that. He loves to snuggle with me and seems to hate men for some reason.
Reko:
Reko is my Chompy boy, always biting everyone but me. The vet, his daddy, his grandma, and so on, he is a very naughty boy. I adopted him at one month of age from the SPCA Feb 2011. He lived with Mojo for a year but sadly had a falling out. He is very aggressive and 2 ish weeks ago after my failed attempt at trying to bond my boys, he ended up fighting with Mojo and needing surgery to fix him up. BUT he is all healed up and like the other two is much happier in his own cage.
Well that's the boys. I look forward to learning and sharing with you all.
