Betty has been dry all day. Vet has said to see how she gets on. She is having good and bad days. She never wheeks when she pees and theres no blood in her urine so Im hoping the vet is right in saying its cleared up. When she has her bad days Im bathing her and drying her completely before returning to her cage and the house has been removed in the cage so shes encouraged to sleep in different places. Fingers crossed its not a stone thats causing this as my vet doesnt seem to think it is

No squealing when pooping or weeing. Her poos are odd now though, she is very swollen in that area still and when she poos it sorta only half comes out and she runs around with it peeking out before she pushes it the rest of the way out lol.... gross huh!

Maybe get her some pro-botics because Baytril will be playing havoc with her gut i had to get the for Junior as he was on Baytril for 4 weeks.

Haha, that sounds like my Xander. He walks around the whole time with a poo sticking out of his bum- classy or what? We've checked to see if he's impacted (and had the vet check too) and it turns out he's just lazy

Its horrid! She was such a classy lady before and now shes picked up some dirty habits! she didnt used to do this before she got ill either. Whilst on the subject of poop... how important is it that they eat the soft poops they produce?

They should ideally eat the softer faeces they produce as it does contain alot of goodness for them, they usually do this when we arent watching thankfully!!!! But sometimes theres spare and they dont eat it.
I wouldnt worry too much though.

Both sows and boars also mark territory so they spray urine in short sharp bursts. Many sows who arent in season when with a boar will spray him (usually in the face) to warn him shes not ready for mating.

We have had a break through the last few days - I have found a way to keep her dry which is working and helping the swelling to go down!! Everynight I am smothering her bottom and the area surrounding it in sudocrem! Ive used it to smooth the hair away from her bottom area and its working!! Betty doesnt mind and as far as I can tell she isnt licking it off. Its really helped, the whole area is less inflamed and shes had a dry bottom for almost a week! Shes putting weight back on nicely too! Huuurah!! Just thought Id share that tip incase anyone else is getting to the stage where only shaving the fur off helps! Smooth it back with sudocrem
