I noticed that Skylar was breathing really heavily over the course of a few days. His chest had no rasping or clicking sounds, and he was eating/pooping/acting normally but we brought him along to the vet anyway to get him checked out.
The vet agreed that his breathing was very rapid and loud, but that there was no sign of infection and his behaviour was normal. However, it sounded a bit more like he was a bit allergic to something.
So, he was given a steroid and a course of antibiotics as a precaution.
He has finished his course, but his breathing is much the same. I've spoken to the vet about it and he said that whatever triggered his breathing problems, be it an allergen or infection, may have slightly damaged his lung tissue, and it might take a little while to repair itself.
So, so long as he's acting normal and eating and friendly, we're just to leave him be, but we've to try not to get him too excited or stressed as that would put pressure on his lungs.
Fingers crossed he'll be alright. He wouldn't play "zoomies" (where he runs like mad around the cage) with his brother this eve, I felt so sorry for Ashie, wanting Skysky to join in!
I'll keep ye updated anyway.

Thanks! He's in great form, so I'm not too worried. If it's a thing he'll have for the rest of his life then we'll just have to monitor him.

Poor piggie. I love it when Pop Tart does his nightly zooming. Cracks me up when he runs into (or over) Scout!
