I posted in another thread about the 2 little rescues I recently got from a home where one of the piggies was given "hair cuts" by a 4 and a 2 year old. He seems to being having some issues today. He's flipping out and running around the cage as if something is in there with him trying to eat him. It's so bad he is clearing almost to the top of the cage in a single bound. It's horrible to watch and he honestly just looks scared to death of "something". He's been fine up to this point although a bit jumpy but nothing major. He was really skinny (bones sticking out) but seems to be gaining weight slowly. His fur is growing back even in the spots where it looks more like it was pulled out instead of cut. I'm not sure what all happened in his old home other than the owner was concerned that next time the "hair cuts" would cut the skin so it sounds like it wasn't the first "salon" trip he had had. I'm not sure what to do for him or why all of the sudden he is acting so crazy. Any advice would be appreciated!!!!! Thanks!!!

If im honest it sounds like he is popcorning, which is a happy thing. Running around the cage, jumping about and general crazy behaviour. Pigs do this usually when they go into a fresh clean cage or are let to run about. Heres a video of my self boars getting to run about the spare room, Fudge (the cream boar) LOVES to run about, youtu.be/rG6-xGpCkU0Kayleigh

I know the first time I saw it, I thought mine were having a fit or I had poisoned them! Now it is great to watch them go crazy. It usually happens at evening veggie treat time.

Fudge is fast!!! That was so cute! Maybe you are right and it just makes me a nervous wreck. The cage they are in isn't big enough and I'm working on getting them a bigger one. There's not much room to run in there so I guess it makes it look more like a fit. I have worried so much over these guys with the way the looked when they got here I guess I'm just nervous. If it's popcorning then I'm happy about it because that means he's feeling better and having a happy moment. Thanks so much to every one who has answered my questions and nervous momma moments!! You guys are the greatest!!!

I thought Terra was having seizures and then I looked it up on the internet. It was such a relief to know he was ok and happy.

It definitely seems scary when you don't know what it is, especially of they squeak at the same time!
