Hello, I wonder if somebody could help, we bought 2 guinea pigs (females) for my daughters birthday, they are both about 11 weeks they have settled in well but one of them seems to be very skinny compared to the other, I can feel her bones, she is almost ball shaped. I did question her frame when we bought her and the pet hop told me she was small and skinny because she was from a litter of 7 ! She seems to be eating and looks perfectly well but does not seem to be very active compared to the other one, I am thinking that she is just a chilled out guinea pig that just plods along but can not help but worry because of her thin frame. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Hi
What weight are both the sows? And what size roughly?
Young pigs should be nice and chunky, regardless of the litter size as they wean about 3 weeks old.
They should be active, bright eyed and very inquisitive especially being so young.
If your at all worried id suggest a vet visit, pigs can go downhill very fast when unwell. They are also very good at hiding illness.

I agree with Kaleigh you might want to take her to a vet just to be sure she's ok. Weigh them at least once a week to see if they are putting on weight.

I always weigh my pups from birth until 8 weeks old (ish) to ensure they are putting weight on.
Sometimes its clear they are gaining but i like the weights for my records. Always handy to know everyones feeding and weaning successfully.
