My guinea pig (shes about 2 months) used to be very thin but she started gaining a lot of weight recently and spends most of her time laying down or eating if shes in her cage. She has a playmate who is also a girl- im positive. The playmate used to be chubbier but shes slim now (theyre the same age). I was wondering if she is just gaining weight because shes growing or is she sick?

If your worried about illness then i would take her to the vets, as when piggies become unwell they can go down hill rapidly. It could be that the other pig is now dominant and not allowing the other to eat as much. How many food bowls do you have in the cage?

I would suggest putting two pellet bowls in the cage so ensure they can both have their own bowl if needed. The guinea pigs should have unlimited hay in the cage/hutch at all times.
hows she doing now?

shes a lot more active now, ive been allowing them to roam around my room and she's been running around a lot and being a lot more happy. The thinner one is fine, shes not THAT skinny, just smaller than the bigger one
