*** Both sows littered successfully, see threads in new additions *** Morning all The time has finally come for me to start a thread for my last planned litters of 2012. I dont usually breed in winter so this will be a challenge in itself. Im hopeful no problems will arise and the sows will do just fine. They were both paired up the end of October so we are approx half way through (or there about) could be two weeks off. The litters will be from Rose(silver agouti) & Digby (tri coloured) Rex. Im excited to see what they produce due to the colour difference and what both carry on either side.  The second litter is from Twirl & Sooty both black pointed himi's, My himis are all slow breeders, so im thinking this pair will be later than the rex. (note sooty has lovely flat ears, hopefully this will pass on to pups)  Im hopeful both pigs will deliver the beginning of December. But iv a feeling both may run on to the 2nd or 3rd week, just to keep me waiting. Ill update this thread accordingly with pictures of the sows filling out. Kayleigh |

Well its been a little while so thought id update this thread, Both sows are inpig, Merlot much further along than Twirl. I reckon Merlot has 3 weeks max to go. Managed to get a snap of her today during lap time.  Ill try and get a photo of Twirl soon. Shes been seperated from Sooty now as shes inpig, early days or a small litter. Kayleigh |

Well its getting closer and closer to Christmas which means I am closer to my final litters arriving. Both sows are doing wonderful, Merlots pelvis has been open for a day or so, but this often happens and can be very misleading in sows. Twirls pups are all moving about but shes clearly not as big as Merlot. Im certain Merlot will deliver first and Twirl a week or two later but who knows. Im hoping for litters on the small size, no more than 4 each for the sows sakes! Merlot seems to be getting bigger and bigger!! I took these snaps this morning of the two.   Fingers crossed all goes well with these girls, and hopefully ill be updating soon with pups. Kayleigh |

Me either, im really excited to see the colours from Merlot . . . . Could be Silvers, tri's, golden agouti's, may even throw a himi marked as both parents have it in their lines.
As for Twirl if anything BUT himis come out ill be shocked!! Haha.

Oh i got really excited and jealous then! Thought one had delivered! Im on day 70 with truffle, cant stand the waiting!! Her pelvis has been open for 2 days too. Getting bigger and bigger! Lol. Cant wait for them all to pop  |

Sorry to get you all excited, still nothing, Merlots pups have "dropped" into position and her pelvis is 3-4 fingers apart now, so it HAS to be very soon. Im checking her half hourly now as im very excited/anxious, this is her first litter and shes huge! Done a rough weigh in (shes too big for the scales and she came in at 1732grams) I really hope all goes well!!!! Fingers crossed!
Hoping my next update will be good news!

I have no idea, i was hoping for 3 - 4 all around the same size, it can be so diseaving looking at her though. Shes very heavy and her sides are huge. So it could be more than 4.
Will have to wait and see (and hope for the best)

Shes done it.....Merlot delivered 3 lovely sized pups this morning, all clean dry when i checked on her. Looks like 2 silver agoutis and a golden agouti. Pictures, weights and sexes to come later.
Eeeep babies!! So proud of her. Will give her a quick check over too once everyones settled.

New thread created for Merlots pups!! Now we wait for Twirl, who could be due in a week or two. Really unsure when she took. Shes looking very lop sided, pups moving very well and shes well in herself too. Eating and keeping condition on great. So for now we watch and wait for the arrival of Twirls litter. Well Twirly pig has done it again. she delivered 3 HUGE pups whilst i was at work. Its blowing a gale just now and peeing with rain so i cant do much, its also pitch black!
Ill create a thread tomorrow.
Three seems to be my lucky litter number.
