Hello everyone, I don't know if this is an issue but I wanted to mention it just to be sure. I have a 4 year old female pig that I snuggle with all the time. She's always been good about curling up on my lap when I watch TV and stuff. She's also good about letting me know when she needs to go to the bathroom. Previously though, she would be good for a while without needing to pee. For about the last month or so though she hasn't been able to go more than 10 or 15 minutes before sticking her butt up in the air and giving me 'bathroom break' squeeps. Once she starts going, she also tends to talk a bit, which she never did. I don't think she sounds in pain, but she does let out a few squeaks while going. The urine isn't discolored or have any odor, and her diet hasn't changed, nor is she eating or drinking more.
I just want to make sure this isn't an early sign of a problem. I'm assuming that as she gets older she'll need to go to the bathroom more frequently, I just want to be safe. Thanks!

It could be a UTI or a bladder stone. She may need a trip to the vet. she is squeaking because it hurts her to pee.

Making noises when peeing usually means some form of discomfort. It could be a uti, stones or cystitus. You can try offering cranberry juice to see if this helps, or cystitus medication. But if it continues you may need to see a vet.

Just wanted to say that I hope she gets better soon. Let us know how she is doing.

Eh, definitely not what I wanted to hear, but thanks. Any suggestions how to get my pig to drink cranberry juice? Just put it in the water dispenser?

Yes just put some crabberry in a bottle seperate from the water and he should drink it...once he realises its there
Give that a week or so if no improvement or worsening then a vet visit may be needed.

I got some organic cranberry juice (I figured standard juice cocktail isn't good since there's so much sugar) and put it in a bottle for her that's about 1 part juice and 4 parts water. She doesn't seem to be into it. Do you think she might go for it if I put a little carrot juice in it or something? She's never drank anything other than water before so she isn't thrilled.

You can syringe feed her 1ml to see if she will take it.

For this purpose its perfectly ok to feed cranberry juice alone. Just fill a bottle to a level, mark it if you want to see if its drank.
