I feel terrible. I hadn't noticed until this morning, but Hobbes is very pear shaped. Sure enough, put HER on the floor in front of me and can feel kicks. She and Calvin have been apart for 4 wks so she's at least that far along. She's so young, barely 4 months. All I can do is hope she'll be okay.

She should do just fine, provide plenty of veg, hay and a good pellet. Do you know how much she weighs? If you can feel pups kicking shes at least 6-7 weeks along maybe more depending on how much movement there is.
Im assuming you didnt know hoobes is a sow? Where did you get her and who sexed ..well misexed her
Dont worry just keep her fit and healthy and be gentle when handling her.

No, I made this mistake all by myself. We hoped to get a female playmate for Kahlua, thought they were all boys and picked Hobbes out as a playmate for Calvin instead. Well they did more than play obviously. I just weighed her at 963g, up 97g from 5 days ago!

Remember when u couldn't decide who to breed your sow to??...guess it won't be Hobbes!  You take good care of your pigs so I'm sure it will go wonderful  |

Its really important check the sex of the pigs, if your not sure post pics here and im sure we can help.

So far so good, eating like a horse, drinking like an elephant. She's never liked being handled, so letting her do her own thing. I'll post weights when she'll let me. Here's the Mommy to be, still named Hobbes.  And Daddy Calvin  |

Theyre gorgeous, you should get some lovely rossetted pups from them.
If she doesnt like being handled then best leave her be, some sows dont like handling when inpig.
Is she alone now?

Right now she's with Kahlua, but I'm thinking I should move her to the big tank. Today I did a full clean and she was 991g, almost 30 more since Friday.

hope "hobbes" does good as a mom for you (: though sometimes young animals make suprizingly good mothers, so you might be pleasantly suprized.
just curious about how much a sow's weight should go up during gestation? like is there an average so many grams per day or anything?

It really depends on how many puls she is carrying. Aslong as shes gaining thsts good. Eating a nice selection is good
