So sooty has developed a rather large lump on his genital area. He was neutered just over a year ago now and I'm not sure if that Is what might have caused it? Is it possible to have developed because of that?
He has a rather large genital area since he was natured but the vet said it was because he has ALOT of fatty tissue there. This lump has only developed over the last week or so. I am going to take him to the vets just to be absolutely sure. The lump isn't hard and doesn't seem to hurt him but since its only just come up I want to be sure.
He seems fine he's totally normal, popcorning, climbing his cage to call for veggies etc. I do feel I'm worried about nothing but thought maybe someone on here may have had some experience.
Thanks
Katie

Could be an absess or tumour or excess fat....but in all honesty iv never had a neut boar increase in size noticeably. If itd an absess it should be easy to clear but slightly more difficult to keep clean becaise of the location of it.
Its good that hes still eating etc.
Let us know what the vet says.

I ha another little feel last night and it feels completely different from the other side so we'll wait and see :-)
I'm sure he's just fine

My boy Xander got an abscess near his neuter site months after he was fully healed and back to normal. It was easy to treat, though, and healed up brilliantly. Let us know how he gets on.

Well I was worried about nothing haha we were in the vet for 2 secs and he checked him over and said yeah it's just a fatty lump and its perfectly fine! He did say it was right for me to take bring him in just in case which is good :-) I also got it free as he classed it as a post op check.. Even though it was a over a year ago! Haha lucky me! I like my vet both times I've taken sooty for lumps etc I've not been charged. He weighed him too he's gotten very large since he was neutered haha he was 1.2kg ish when he had his op he's now 1.6kg he's not huge but he actually looks like a really big guinea pig, my mum always calls him fat but he's just a fuzz ball really lol
Anyway all is good so there we have it :-)
Thanks Katie
