Both of my sows are losing weight. I know it's due to their feeding the babies, but how do I minimize it? and when should I expect to see them start gaining?

Some sows loose condition more than others. It just depends on the sows. Ensure you feed plenty of hay and plenty of veggies along side their pellets.
You can bulk the feed out using bruised/rolled oats and by feeding a bran mash too.
The sows should begin to gain weight as the pups wean from 4 weeks of age etc.
All you can do is keep the hay topped up and the pellets and feed lots of veg.

Okay--I figured as much. I made them a warm mash of alfalfa pellets today that both sows and all five pups went nuts for. I'll continue to keep plenty of hay and pellets in front of them and keep the veggies coming too!
They seem healthy and active--but are losing weight as the pups are gaining...

I wouldnt worry, it takes alot out of any mother nursing a litter.
She should start to gain weight and condition up soon.
