Todayerra went in on emergency yesterday. He hadn't peed in 24 hours Vet said she didn't feel and overly full bladder (so no stone). She thinks he has a bad UTI and put him on antibiotics. He is not drinking so I have to syringe feed him water every two hours and give him wet veggies. So far he has been eating ok and I am giving him acidophilus with the anti biotics. She said it was a good thing I noticed because he wasn't too dehydrated. He is peeing some today. and is acting pretty normal I was so worried I made myself sick and am on meds myself. I had to get him to a vet and I was having trouble finding one that took payments. It took me over 12 hours to find one. He is doing better today.

I hope Terra is okay. I'm glad you were able to find a vet. It can be tough to find one that takes payments but it's useful to have.

In we my last post I meant to say blockage not stone. He may still have a stone but we will see how the antibiotics go first. If he still has trouble then we will get an x ray He doesn't have any blood in his pee but it does have a strong odor.

Try giving some cranberry juice. Does wonders for possible blockages.

Oh, so glad things are going OK! I know what you mean about worrying until you're on meds! One of my cats has an URI and the medicine is not working. He's 10 years old and I've had him since he was 6 weeks old.

She wolf silver-I hope your kitty gets better. I couldn't find a vet and it stressed me. I had to take anti anxiety meds . God is good and I found a vet for Terra.
Kaleigh I tried the cranberry juice and it did wonders. He is peeing almost normally now.

I have a question If I let him go without water for 4 hours will it hurt him? Ive been getting 0 sleep and I just wondered if I could get a nap at night it would sure help. I have been syringe feeding him water every two hours around the clock. If It will hurt him then I wont do it but if I could get a nap it would help me function better.

Is he drinking the cranberry juice and eating any veg at all? If he is try putting cranberry juice in 1 bottle, a mix of water and a little cranberry in another and give some watery veg (peppers, cucumber, lettuce) This should tide him over!
Pigs dont need lots of water to sustain themselves. And they will usually drink when they need it.

He is not drinking any water on his own. He is only drinking water and cranberry via syringe. He stops peeing if I don't give him fluids. I am starting to think this is something more serious.

So theres no attempt to drink from a bottle if theres cranberry in it? Is he eating hay/pellets and veg?

When I was syringe feeding my girl Hilda she wasn't drinking either, and I used to leave her for four to five hours overnight so I could get some sleep and she was okay. Will be drink water if there's no cranberry juice in it?

Just an update Terra is drinking on his own hooray! He seems to be doing fine eating and drinking ok now. will keep you posted.
