poopy bottom then dead?

i had just gotten an abby sow 1/13/13. she was one of my bigger sows and when i got her the person said she might be bred. i never felt any babies and i dont think she was cause i also have rabbits and i can usually feel em good.

well i had her by herself a while and then introduced her to the girls, all went well, she was in with them until yesterday.
i noticed she had a goopy poopy bottom so i brought her up and washed her. nice and clean and got all the stuff off her bottom. her girly bits looked rather large? i really dont know how else to say it. i mean i expected her girly bits to be larger around area because she is larger then my other sows but it just seemed more larger then i was expecting. not sure if that means anything.
well i dried her off and she cuddled with the towel a while and then i pet her in her own area. last night when i checked her i dont think she had eaten or drank anything.
and this morning after my chores (i live on a farm and have a bit of critters) she was dead. her bottom kinda messy again.

needless to say i went around checking the bottoms of the sows she had been in with. two of them have babies (born 1/30 and 1/31) and one doesnt. so total of 3 sows and 4 babies.

well one of the moms has bloody looking discharge from her girly bits looks like.

is there anything that jumps out as an obvious reason for this?
none of the others have poopy bottoms though. i will keep checking them all though.

I'm new to guinea pigs but from what I read doesn't that mean they could have urinary tract infection or UTI?

She might have had a uti or diahorrea. I would guess the latter because it can be lethal for guinea pigs while a uti tends to be sore and leave them a bit wet but it would take longer to kill them.

Fingers crossed it was something she hasn't passed onto your girls, but keep checking them as you've been doing and give any area she was in a thorough clean.

The girl with the bloody discharge, does she still have that? And has she already given birth? If so, how long ago?

no the one with the bleeding stopped when i next checked her that day and hasnt had it since then.
she had a baby on 1/31/13. it was her first.
no messy bottoms on anyone yet. been checkin them all.
