Hi All,
I just wanted to post a thread on this website as I've found it very helpful in the past.
My 5 year boar Harry has had a lump under his nipple for about a year, we worried at first but when it seemed to not be causing any discomfort to Harry or increasing in size we left it alone but just kept an eye on it.
About 3 weeks ago it had become extremely swollen and inflamed and did seem to be affecting Harry as he was limping due to the size and location of the lump.
We bathed it and put sudocrem on just over the course of a couple of days. We've kept a keen eye on him and we checked him tonight and it has completely disappeared to how it was before!
Sometimes taking them to a vet can be for the worst, we lost a guinea pig (Junior) under anesthetic previously, having one of these lumps removed.
The only advise I would ever give is just do what you can and give whatever it is time, unless it's causing your guinea too much discomfort.
I'm so glad we didn't put Harry through any of that horrible stuff.
I'll upload the picture of Harry how he should be.

Sometimes vets are a bit quick to opt for surgery. I'm pretty lucky that my vet tends to leave well enough alone.
We've brought a few pigs to him with little lumps. Some, depending on how sore the pig was and the lump location, he has removed via surgery (and some of them have turned out to be cancerous, so good job he took them) and some he has just left alone and we've found those ones disappear in time.
I'm glad Harry is feeling better. Keep a close eye on him in case it flares up again. If it was a little abscess it may not be fully cleared.
