Hi. My sow truffle delivered 2 gorgeous babies on the 5th dec. 1 boy and 1 girl. I seperated the male at 25 days old on 30th dec. i had heard him doing a bit of rumbling, but had planned on taking him out on that day anyway. So now truffle is putting on weight again. She hasnt been near another boar since her son nearly 9 weeks ago. I may have felt slight movement about a week ago. She has taken a big dislike to me feeling for more than 3 minutes though. I also havent seen any movement. Her tummy feels swollen and hardish, but cant feel any hardish bits. Im thnking that maybe shes having a phantom pregnancy or maybe theres only 1 in there? Maybe shes just fat? Lol. Does anyone have any advice or experience please? Thanks Heres some pics of her today

It could be that her son caught her, what sort of size/weight was the pup? Iv heard recently of a few over amerous pups catching their mums at under 4 weeks old.
Only time will tell, your certain the other pup is a sow too?
Let us know the outcome

Hi. He was 280g i think at 25 days old. The other one was a sow, verified by the breeder who had her. I could get into contact with her again to ask to make sure. It would make more sense if the sow was infact a boar as she does seem more 7 weeks to me than 9. So i shall ask. I shall keep you updated

Could it be bloat? Shall i take her to the vets or wait and see?

Bloat usually presents itself as a firm stomach, like gas i suppose. The pigs dont generally eat or drink.
It is still possible that the young boar caught her at 25days or younger. He sounds like he was a fair size pup.
If shes bright, eating and drinking then keep an eye on her.

Shes still eating fine and acting fine. Her tummy seems bigger and firmer today. Still no movement though. Although she really hated me even touching her stomach today. I guess all i can do it wait and see. I will keep you updated.

For an hour this morning it looked like she was in labour. Doing the tensing, the grunting and checking her bits. Now, nothing!
