Hi everyone.
I have two female guinea pigs; daisy and noodle, and I'm not sure what to do with noodle. I have only had them for around 7 weeks so neither of them have been ill before.
she is golden with red eyes, and the other day i noticed that her nose looked stuffed up (it looked blackish to me so i was concerned it was blood) so i cleaned it out with a cotton bud but i still couldn't tell if it was blood or not (she did have this once a few weeks ago as well but just as a one off).
So I just decided to keep an eye on it as it has been bank holiday this weekend (ie no vets) and thought she was fine (and maybe that was what her nose is always like) but then i noticed she has been sneezing a few times (not that often) and her nose was running (clear discharge) last night. Then today she has the crust around her nose again - So decided I will definitely take her to the vets tomorrow, but when looked again it had gone!!! I am not sure what to do because she is acting normally and running around and stuff, with no breathing difficulties or anything - So it is hard to tell if it a uri or not!
Any advice would be much appreciated because I'm really worried about her! xxxx

Just wanted to add that i have just booked a vet appointment for tomorrow morning - did speak to another vet which advised to bring her in today cos of the blood in her nose - but because it is bank holiday that would cost £60 and i just can't afford that!

It could be a uri alright. It takes a lot for a pig to actually "act" sick, even if they are ill. They can seem fine but actually be keeping their illness a "secret", because that's what they're programmed to do.
Keep a close eye on her, make sure she's not subjected to any chills, that she's still eating and drinking, and if she deteriorates you'll have to bring her to the vet beforehand. If not, she should be okay until tomorrow.
As for the maybe blood, is she fighting with her friend? Could she have gotten a nip on the nose?
