Ruby is flopping around like a fish and her head is tilting. I took her to the vet today. She says it's really inflamed in her ear and that would explain her balance problem and head tilt. But she's always laying around a lot. I hope it really is just an inner ear infection, because watching her is making me sad. I'm syringe-feeding her baby food (vet's advice) and syringing her water. She also got an antibiotic.
Has anyone had a guinea pig that could barely walk because of an inner ear infection?

Poor piggy.
You can also mush up her pellets with some warm water and syringe that to her as well. It'll have more fibre in it to help her gut keep moving.

She's not getting better, so they're giving her a stronger antibiotic.

Thanks. She's eating some timothy hay right now so I hope that's a good sign. She's still super wobbly though.

She's still wobbly, but her head is less tilted and she's not falling completely over as much. I really, really hope this is over soon.

She's not getting better. I'm worried I'm not giving her the medicine right since I lost the original oral syringe. I'm using one she gave me in case I lost my first ones.

I'd say if you are worried maybe ring up the vets and ask to talk to the vet that dealt with you; sometimes they will talk over the phone and can give you a quick talk about it to ease your mind. It's no good you getting yourself stressed and ill over it; I think you just need someone to tell you if you are doing it right or wrong and then you will feel better about it. So what I would do is call the vets find out what I needed to know and put my mind at ease, trust me it will make you feel 70% better knowing you are doing it right.
My faults are with you I hope she gets better soon, keep us updated.

She was euthanized this afternoon because she just kept getting worse and the vet suggested she may have permanent damage. RIP Ruby, baby.

It shouldn't matter if it's a different syringe. So long as you're giving the same amount. How long has she been on meds now?
