We named her Cinnabun. We got her from a pet store. They said she was between 4 & 6 weeks. I haven't gotten her a friend yet, but will soon. All the other piggies at the store were boys.

Congrats on getting a piggy! There's a step-by-step guide to using photobucket here too (it has changed a little since that thread was made, but it's basically the same).

Hi, I had to change my user name. It wouldn't let me log in. We got our 2nd piggie. We haven't decided on a name yet. We are thinking Nutmeg. or Ginger Snap, she's the one on the left.

Lovely pigs!
You're not the only person having login problems, I'll see if I can find out anything about it.

I hate to be a party pooper here, but did you get a second opinion on the sexesof your piggies? I got 2 pigs from a pet store and was assured by 2 separate employees that they were both females... turns out that one of them is a male and now I might have a pregnant piggy on my hands (won't know for another couple of weeks if she is or not) - so please don't take the word of the pet store or you may soon have more piggies than your bargained for!

I checked myself, so did the pet store employee. They said she was a sow. Then I bought my 2nd piggie from a breeder and I double checked that piggies sex too. He also looked at my first piggie and said she is a she. I hope if your piggie is pregnant that everything goes well for her. Did you keep the male? Or re-home him?

we kept him - we've got them separated until he has his neuter surgery (which is soon) and he's had his recovery period (we're going to err on the safe side and keep them separated 4-6 weeks after his surgery)
by the time we found out that he wasn't a she, we'd already fallen hopelessly in love with his ornery behind LOL

Aww newpiggieparent I was too late to see the guinea pigs!!! They was removed before I could see them. By the way I upload images by pressing "reply" and then going to the top right hand corner and adding an "attachment" and then once the image is uploaded I "insert" it into the reply it is 10x easier and makes for less hassle with photobucket. Maybe you can upload the pics again when you have time? Awww and angelsfort I am sorry that had happened to you it gets me so mad when pet shops are uneducated on the Guinea Pigs and the poor person who is relying on their advice has to deal with the mess after! I really hope that she gives birth safely with no complications and that she stays healthy, also that your boy goes through his op safely too. My advice would be if you ever go to get a guinea pigs again go to a rescue or a good breeder it will put your mind at ease knowing that what you have got is all you have got with no little extras in the late future but keep us updated I'd love to see the new arrivals when they come! .

:-) thanks Wiggypiggy! we aren't sure yet if she's pregnant or not, and I'm starting lean towards "not" because Acorn (our male) has surpassed her in weight (and he started off much smaller than she) and she's not gaining weight as quickly as she was... I'm also not noticing any extra roundness in her belly (the 2 piggies have been separated since May 10th - so this is the 5th week since separation- I think I should start noticing more weight gain and roundness by now, right?)
she's my little snuggle-muffin, she's the one that demands attention and affection - she's easy to pick up (doesn't fight TOO much) and once you've got her she makes little happy noises and gives lots of licks

The one thing I would say is just keep an eye on her some Guineas can all of a sudden show because some of the babies can hide near the rib cage etc. So yes keep an eye on her but give it 2 months and you will know for sure I hope she is not pregnant though and if she is she has them safely.
