Hi. I know Teddies are prone to dry skin. One of mine, Millie has developed dandruff. Her cagemate Daisy is fine. There is no sign of fungus fur loss or mites. Millie does scratch a lot and her skin is flaky. Her eyes are flaky too. I am reluctant to shampo her becuase I've been told teddies shouldn't be bathed. What should I do?

All pigs can be bathed. Teddies can be prone to skin issues but if im honest i rarely see it and i wouldnt say they are more so than say ... rex or other breeds.
I would suggest treating for fungal just incase. Use an imaverol dip. This will wash her coat too.

My Teddy also has dandruff looking flakes that just fall off when his fur is fluffed. We haven't bathed him yet at all (we got him on 7/20). He's not showing any symptoms of mites or fungal. Would it be okay to use an imaverol dip as a precaution?

Yeo imaverol is fine to use. You dont rinse it out though. Water it down to the desired solution then wash the pig all over and blow dry on a low heat. And give a good brish . Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards
