while snuggling with my little girl this afternoon, I noticed something crawling around on her back... she's got very thick fluffy fur, so it was difficult to spot... but I started parting her fur and found several fleas crawling around in there! Ick!!! I've been fighting them for a few weeks now on our puppy and the puppy is super curious about the piggies so she's always hanging around their cage. I'm certain thats where they came from.
how can I get rid of fleas on my piggie?! As I said, she's got very thick & fluffy fur and I'm not certain that I could get a shampoo in deep enough to get all the fleas... any suggestions? my poor little girly girl!

Fleas are host specific so your puppy wont pass them to the pigs. Are you sure they arent mites or running lice? Best solution is to cut her hair if shes long coated for the quickest treatment then bathe.
Id also get some ivermectin to treat her for mites too.

it was definitely a flea (I only saw 2 of them)... does that mean they won't be biting on her, etc?

I meant, AND I only saw 2 of them... didn't want to leave the impression that I thought it was fleas because I only saw 2... I'm very familiar with fleas, since we've had critters my whole life

They will bite her like they bite us. But im pretty sure they cant live on pigs. When my kitten caught fleas from a neighbours dog my pigs where a safe, no itching or scratching and defknately no fleas.
Myself however covered in bites!!!! Got dex treated and and the house. And again 3 weeks later. Thankfully all gone.
My first and only experience with fleas.
