I have used the bob martin spot on for GP's a couple of times as that's the brand I have used for dog's and cat's in the past, recently I found a product by a company called Beaphar who do a similar treatment and prevents lice, fleas, mange mites, other mites and roundworm. This is more cover than the bob martin stuff provides and its cheaper, it says it contains ivermectin which is obvs a good thing. One thing I don't like about bob martin is that it leaves the fur feeling a bit grimey for a few days but obvs you can't bathe the pig without ruining the treatment so I was hoping to find a nicer product to use.
What are your thoughts, should I try it and see what its like?

It may be worth a try; most lice/mite treatments will leave the fur a little greasy. I used to use different spot ons years ago before I started breeding, but now having 10 Guineas it is unrealistic for me to buy the small amounts so have recently started to buy bigger balk "Ivermectin" but through my experience with small treatments of Ivermectin it will leave the fur a little greasy in the places you use it. Try using it behind the ears on the bald patches and that may stop the hair from being greasy (Of course though if it states to apply it to the back of the neck you may want to just stick with what is says.) And if it does cover more than I'd say try it, there is nothing wrong with a bit more protection.

I have used beapher spot on treatment and found it works really well. It does leave the fur greasy but i think all similar treatments do. I pop it behind the ears too like wiggypiggys as its a handy hairless spot to apply it!

The Beaphar one is much better than the Bob Martin one as it contains ivermectin, which is what your vet would give you. I've used the Bob Martin myself and didn't find it great and I noticed that greasy feeling as well. I don't think the Beaphar one is as bad for that.

Bob martin products in general are rubbish if im honest.
Bealhur is better and cheap enough if you have a couple of pigs. You can buy ivermectin or revolution online cheaply and it will last a good year or two. But i guess not suited if you only have a couple of pigs.
