 Hi! I just got my new guinea pig last week. She is a female she is 7 1/2 years old, and she has a teddy velvet coat. today when cleaning out their cage she started slowly opening a closing her eye. i tryed to wipe her eye down with a c

ottonbll and warm water but it didnt work!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!! IM VERY WORRIED!!!!

She could possibly have some hay/dust in there or an infection caused by it. See if you can look in the eye and if it looks slightly discoloured you may need to take her to the vet. Maybe someone on here has a home remedy for it but it could need a wash out which I have let the vet do followed with some drips.
First though if you can send us a picture so we can have a look at what is looks like.

Gently pull back the sides of her eye to see if there's anything stuck in there. It's fairly common for them to get bits of grass and hay in there.
