Good day! I'm new here and came in because I recently acquired two piggies. a male and a female rescues. The male is Kirby because he sucks up food like a vacuum claener and a white female who is very picky...I've never had a picky piggy before adn she won't eat for my roommate when I go out of town..

Hi and welcome! I love the name Kirby it is sooo cute! And to have a picky piggy is a bad and good thing, bad because you can't go anywhere but good because it shows how attached she is to you. This is a great forum with experienced Guinea owners who can give advice on a number of different subject so don't be afraid to ask questions. I look forwards to seeing future posts from you

No pictures yet but I ama somewhat experienced piggy owner. I've had them before but it has been a while. I'm sure I have tons of questions that remaini to be asked. I believe in keeping my pets safe and feeding them correctly. We give lots of fresh veggies in addition to pelleted food with calcium adn vitamin C...

Welcome to the forum. Have you got a name for the female yet?
The members come from all over. Mostly the UK and USA. I'm from Ireland myself.

We are fielding names for her. My roomie wants to call her velvet after Elizabeth taylor's role in National Velvet. I think she looks liek 5 lb sack of sugar myself. I also like somewhat unusual names so we are still thinking on her name...She is a very picky eater...will eat cilantro, parsley, green bell pepper, Romaine, but you have to cut the spines out of it or she wastes them. She will eat all the hay you can cram in the cagebut won't touch carrots, tomatoes, fresh melon or pineapple chunks...strange...the male will eat anything you put in his cage..

Some pigs are just fussy. She'll probably get over it!

Never heard of Kim Harrison...I chose the name because Cerridwen is a Celtic Goddess who sometimes makes appearances as a white sow and my piggy is a white sow...LOL

Hi Sparky! I'm from the states myself and am new to the forum too. I absolutely love the ironic mythical name for your Sow. I gave my guy the name Monticello because I brought him home on July 4th and work for a school named after Thomas Jefferson. I posted a few pictures of Monty in my post about my first cavy. I hope to see some of Kirby and Cerridwen soon.

Kim Harrison has a series of books called The Hollows and one of the characters in that is called Cerridwen, so I thought that might be where it was from.
