FUNGAL INFECTION: & THE STEPS AFTER!?

April 16th of this Month I took my Toffee to the vet. They confirmed what I had started to believe, a fungal infection was present in my guinea pig. It spread to me & he had it when I got him but I hadn't known better.

He is being treated daily with topical liquid from the vet on the infected areas. His ears & feet mainly!
He has a very beloved bed he loves to sleep in... However this now too must be "infected"
I am treating him daily but should I clean his cage daily? If i am treating him what about his environment?
How often should I be cleaning the cage, I don't want the infection to remain.
Last night I cleaned his cage fully. Although is he reinfecting his environment?
I cleaned his cage & he had gotten greasy from the medicine topical. I guess I was applying rather generous.
So after work today I bathed him, first time ever. He had no issue with it.
So after he was dry and comfortable I put him back into his home.
Should I have recleaned since last night?
I took out his beloved fleece round "bed" he loves to nap in!
I will be washing it tomorrow. Hot water& cap full of bleach as another member informed me she has done so too With detergent.
Once I reintroduce his favorite laying spot how often should I wash it while he has this fungal infection?
I have so many questions

No there is no wood in his environment.
Plastic cage, carefree type layer or "bedding". His food dish, his beloved fleece round "bed" he lounges in. & his water bottle.
OH! And his card board tube i fill with hay. Should that be tossed?
Could it be reinfecting him?!

Fungal is a pain to get rid off, and sadly the spores get everywhere. For the time being i would suggest removing all cuddly fleeces, hideys etc, wash/bleach them and once he is clear of the fungal he can get them back.

When my boar had ringworm he passed it onto me s from then on if i suspect fungal everything goes to bare basics (its for the pigs best interest) ... its very contagious, i had to get cream from the doctors to apply to the patch and it eventually cleared up.

I always wear gloves when treating pigs for fungal and a wear old clothes or a plastic fronted apron that is washed or binned, they are isolated away from other pigs, and they live in easy to clean plastic cages, on a wood shavings bedding and have their feed and veg in a ceramic easy to clean bowl. I disinfect the cage once a week using Trigene. I personally used Imaverol dip to treat the fungal my boar had, i diluted the solution 1/50 and dipped Godric into the solution, his entire body so the spores had no where to hide, i done this 3 times a week for two weeks and it cleared up in no time.

I would also limit handling too, until its cleared up as you will carry the spores around on your skin/hair and clothes and transport it around your home. Do remember you and other pets can get ringworm too.

Some guinea pigs/animals are carriers and never show any symptoms of the infection, whilst others seem to get it over and over.
