I just bought two male guinea pigs today, and I was told they were about 6-9 months old. I saw them a few weeks ago in the store when I was still considering buying a pair, and when I saw them, neither of them was losing hair. Now, the white one is losing hair on his nose and there are few very small scabs. What does this mean? ): I have tried researching, but nothing really looks like what he has going on. He does have a cage mate, so I'm not sure if maybe he nibbled off the other ones hair? I was told by the store clerk that if it didn't improve, to bring him back, and they would take him to the vet for me? But should I just take him myself? I'm worried about him!
Thanks.
EDIT: I've attached a few pictures of his nose.

It sounds like it could be fungal (ringworm)
Can you post a picture?
Daktarin, lamisil athletes foot cream will clear it up.
Strict cleaning regime as its very contagious to other pigs and us humans.
No need to panic though.

Looks like ringworm.. I would separate from other pigs. It is highly contagious (to humans as well) so use gloves when handling the pig and wash your hands well!
