Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
I have had guinea pigs for nearly 10 years, my Mum used to breed them so I used to get them from her. She stopped breeding them a few years ago and when my last piggy passed to the bridge I found I was struggling to find a piggy from a breeder so turned to the pet shop. So in Feb I bought two adorable girls called Madge and Rosie.
A month after Rosie had a URI and passed to the bridge.
It was a desperate search to find a new friend for Madge. She now had a new friend called Fudge.
A few weeks after me having Fudge I noticed she had ringworm so I did all I could to get rid of it including getting Itrafungol from the vets.
At the beginning of this week I noticed that she seemed to be quite bloated then a few days later I had her resting on my arm and I felt a FLUTTER!!!! I thought no surely not........................................................ I dismissed the thought.
Thursday I checked with the vet to see if I could stop her itrafungol early because I felt this was making her bloated completely forgetting about the fact that she could be preggers! Ringworm is cleared up but when I took her to the vet this morning she said I need to take her for a scan, I was like WHAT are you thinking what I'm thinking, she said YES!
FUDGE IS PREGNANT, flipping pet shops have alot to answer for! Anyway I now have my little cute girl all preggers.
Looking back over the past two weeks I too have been nesting, I bought a new C & C cage and put them on shredded paper.
She is close to giving birth ARGH.
The vet said that because of the itrafungol there may be problems..................................... I did stop it early but who knows.
The babies are alive in her tummy so heres hoping.
Problem is I work full time so I'm scared of being out and her having problems with the birth.
Thoughts please ^_^
