Hello~!
Firstly, I'd like to introduce myself a little bit.
I am twenty years old and still getting used to this whole being an adult thing. :/
I am an avid writer and it is my hopes to become an author some time in the future; my first novel is in its beginning stages already.
I am also an amateur artist- I seem to only -really- be able to draw Guinea Pigs at this point, but I think that's A-Ok.
Lastly, I am going to school to become an exotic veterinarian~!
And now for my Precious Piggy!
I adopted my beautiful Edelweiss from a shelter about two months ago. She's four and a half years old and had been at the shelter for quite some time. Since she's not exactly a young Piggy, no one wanted her, thinking she'd die soon after getting her. This, of course, upset me to no end. Right before our move across the state, my boyfriend and I adopted her, and she's been so much happier ever since.
She's currently occupying a 2x4 C&C cage, and is anxiously awaiting a new companion, though it seems to be rather difficult to find any females out here...
Her favorite veggie so far is green bell peppers, which she purposefully digs out from her salad to much at first.
She had to switch to Oxbow pellets a month ago, from a low quality food, and that certainly took a bit of coaxing, since she had gotten used to it at the shelter. But now she's overjoyed at food time!
I live with my boyfriend, and his brother and fiance.
Aside from my precious Edelweiss, there is also eight cats in the house, two of which are mine, and two budgies. The cats don't usually get to spend time with the piggy, unless they happen to be in the room where we keep Edelweiss. The budgies, however, share a room with my Piggy and for now, I think they're entertaining her, and keeping her from being too lonely. We have a Piggy/Birdy cam set up in their room, and frequently, we find her watching the birds as they chirp and squawk at each other.
All in all, I'm terribly excited to be a dedicated cavy slave.
