One of my sows delivered yesterday evening, just one baby (I think it's a girl but will post pics to check later) it was 119g. This is my first sow to give birth so I am very excited / constantly worrying! How do I know that the baby is nursing corectly and getting the milk it needs? I have see them cuddling up together most of the time but if I poke around and disturb them they run off so I can't see if the baby is feeding. Should I just weigh it daily? Do they drop a little afer birth? Thanks for any advice. Here's a picture: it's a peruvian x lunkarya

119g is a big baby! Chances are you won't see a lot of nursing when there's only one baby - when there's a bigger litter you've more of a chance. They do drop weight after birth, but weigh again in a few days and it should be going in an upward direction.
Also, cuuuute!

She's gaining weight nice and steadily and regained birth weight within 2 days so I think everything must be fine - worrying about nothing!
