I noticed a year and a half ago my guinea pig developed a lump on his back so i took him to the vet who said it was common and there was no fluid in the lump when she tried to drain from it and to leave him be as he was happy in himself. About 6months later i felt the lump had grown so i decided to get a 2nd opinion and i was given same information. Well i wasn't 100% happy with this as i felt it was still growing so took him for a 3rd opinion and this vet did find a Bactria in the lump and said they would drain it for me. Well they have come back with a cost of over £300 to do this!!! There is no way i can afford such a payment. I am so upset and angry as no other vet is helping and this vet now insists they want to see him again before they drain what's another £30 on top!! I know i should not be moaning about costs but its causing me a lot of upset and stress and i love my guinea pigs very much and do not want any of them to suffer but there is absolutely no way i can afford this and the vet is not helping me. Can someone recommend and good vet that is fair in cost and do not over charge or charge whatever they want? I need to get my pig sorted ASAP
Thank you. x

What area do you live in? This will help people recommend a vet to you.
And have you asked your vet about a payment plan? They may allow you to pay over time.
Also, I feel that £300 is extortionate. I've had lumps surgically removed from my pigs for about €100. Are there any other vets in your area?
